Two evenings of film screenings and athlete conversations set to inspire you to keep chasing winter at Wind Drift Studios — February 20–21.
Join us on Friday night for an evening of backcountry storytelling, films, and athlete panels.
On Saturday, the adventure continues with two screening times for Mountains Of The Moon. The first at 5:00 PM and the second at 8:00 PM, offering multiple chances to experience the fevered imagination of artist, professional freeskier and filmmaker, Chris Benchetler.
To help make our Film Nights more accessible, ASL interpreters will be on site for our Film Nights. There will also be a bar onsite serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Wind Drift Studios (previously known as Mammoth Reservation Bureau) is located on 94 Old Mammoth Road, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546.
Our Academy beneficiaries are local organizations dedicated to strengthening the Mammoth community—whether through search and rescue operations, creating meaningful connections to the outdoors, or educating the public on avalanche safety. We’re proud to reinvest in the programs and individuals who make this place feel like home.
A fast-paced, short-format storytelling series where athletes share the lessons the backcountry has taught them—on and off the skin track. Why venture deeper? Why take the risks? What keeps you coming back to the mountains?
From personal breakthroughs to hard-earned truths, these rapid-fire talks from Janelle Smiley, Tonje Kvivik, and Sam Kuch deliver raw, reflective moments and powerful backcountry insights.
Hear from Craig Murray and Victor Daviet as they share the story of how a joking “contract” at the 2025 Arc’teryx Freeride Academy sparked an unforgettable backcountry road trip through Aotearoa, New Zealand. What started as a playful promise turned into a full-blown mission aboard the legendary bus Rongo.
From perfect alpine sunrises to long days touring beneath Aoraki / Mt. Cook, Craig and Victor recount a journey filled with raw experiences, deep connection, and the magic of exploring wild places with friends who appreciate them just as much.
In the mountains—like in life—most days aren’t perfect. But for ACMG splitboard guides Christine Feleki and Joey Vosburgh, making their 150+ days a year meaningful is the job.
Guiding is a constant balance of managing uncertainty, prioritizing safety, and sharpening skills in an ever-evolving field. Longevity demands not just technical expertise and avalanche awareness, but ongoing self-reflection and growth.
This year, they explored a remote corner of the Selkirks Joey had been eyeing for years—navigating variable conditions, embracing the unknown, and reflecting on how far their journeys have taken them.
What happens when nine riders from four countries touch down in the Japanese Alps in the midst of a season-defining storm cycle?
The universal language of ‘dig yourself out, lap until your legs give out, and do it all again’ removes any barriers that may have existed, and a silent bond is forged through the immersive experience that storm riding brings.
Linking up with snowboard legend Tadashi Fuse, follow along as the Arc’teryx team searches high, low and everywhere in between for deep turns and unforgettable times.
Join us for an exclusive panel featuring the incredible athletes who brought the film to life: Spencer O’Brien, Victor Daviet, Robin Van Gyn, and Tadashi Fuse.
Hear their stories, get behind-the-scenes insights, and dive into the experiences that shaped the film.
Don’t miss this chance to connect with the minds and talent behind the screen!
Featuring two exclusive screenings of Mountains of the Moon at 5PM and 8PM.
Mountains of the Moon is more than just a film—it’s an exploration of what’s possible when inspiration, creativity, performance, and cinematic ingenuity collide.
Showcasing professional athletes across ski, snowboard, surf, freedive, mountain bike and climb, in a new dimension as they perform their sports in the dark wearing custom lightsuits built by Arc'teryx.
From the fevered imagination of artist, professional freeskier and filmmaker, Chris Benchetler, comes a unique cinematic vision, featuring the world’s greatest action sports athletes in a host of surreal and otherworldly environments.
